Synopsis Manga Your Lie in April
Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) tells the story of Kousei Arima, a former piano prodigy who lost his ability to hear the sound of the piano due to trauma caused by his mother’s death. His bleak life regains its color after he meets Kaori Miyazono, an eccentric violinist who helps him return to the world of music.
As a child, Kousei was known as the “human metronome” due to his technically flawless playing. However, his mother’s strict upbringing left him traumatized. After his mother’s death, he suffered a psychological shock that left him unable to hear the sound of his own piano.
Two years later, a depressed Kousei meets Kaori Miyazono. Kaori’s musical style is very free, expressive, and the complete opposite of the rigid rules Kousei is used to playing by.
Kaori forces Kousei to return to performing with her as an accompanist in various music competitions. As time goes on, Kousei falls in love with Kaori, but it turns out Kaori is hiding a deadly genetic disease.
